Lilydale
It may not appear so, but the site for this Lilydale home threw up two major constraints for the clients and the Planned Homes team. One, it’s a small piece of land, subdivided off what was a larger property. Two, it’s incredibly steep.
The clients required a spacious, light-filled home that would not only be appropriate to run a business out of, but would provide room enough for several staff as well. The trick was essentially creating two spaces with neither cramping the other’s style or scale.
Considering the weight of first impressions, the foyer of this home does a brilliant job of promoting that sense of light and space. A generous balcony area and integrated kitchen/dining further the mood of expanse and make one feel as though the house occupies more area than it truly does.
One feature of a successful build is a final product that gives no hint of the challenges faced during its construction. In that sense, this unique home is a remarkable success.
